1. Traditional insulation techniques use multiple layers of old sack fabrics infiltrated and covered with multiple layers of boiling Tar at the surface site. Waterproofing via traditional techniques can be messy, troublesome, causes more air pollution besides the untidy-looking outcome and surprisingly, it can turn out more expensive. ARYA ISOGUM, offers the exact opposite characteristics of the latter. Unlike the materials used in the traditional “Fabric and Tar” technique, ARYA ISOGUM does not decay, it does not crack and due to the modified structure, it is highly durable with excellent elongation and recovery properties over a wide range of temperatures and is resistant against physical stress and mechanical abuse. Also, due to its relative light areal density, ARYA ISOGUM, does not impose an overload on the roof and other building structures.

2. Unlike the usual BOF type membranes that use oxidized bitumen in their structure, the bitumen used in ARYA ISOGUM is the BPP modified, polymeric 60/70 type bitumen produced in nation’s Petroleum Distilleries under supervision of The National Iranian Oil Company. The oxidized bitumen used in BOF type membranes is produced by distillation of fuel oil residues in random warehouse tanks which do not possess the plasticity, elasticity and insulating properties of the BPP type bitumen.

3. Contrary to the BOF type membranes, ARYA ISOGUM does not produce foul smelling smolder upon installation, thus making it a healthier and more pleasant option to work with.
